San Martin De Porres Retablo Patron of Public Health Workers, People of Mixed Race, Children and Hairdressers 
 
Martin was the Peruvian son of a conquistador and a freed slave born in Lima, Peru. He could heal with the touch of his hand. He became a Dominican monk and opened a hospital, orphanage and an animal clinic. He was a man of great heart and compassion.
