The Cauldron Black is delighted to announce a year-long, twelve-part monthly series dedicated to The Mighty Dead: historic, influential, prolific (and occasionally infamous!) witches, magicians, occultists, conjure folk, seers, and diviners.
 
This class series will begin in January 2021 and run through December  2021. Once a month, The Cauldron Black will feature a guest speaker who will present their class on a particular figure or aspect of the elevated dead, lineage ancestors, heroic cultus, and/or the tutelary shades of returned and ennobling souls.
 
Through this study and celebration of such magically proficient shades, we will seek to explore useful tools, techniques, and tuition from these necromantic patrons for contemporary magical practitioners of  all stripes, creeds, and persuasions.
 
Al Khidr & The Oasis of Prophethood - In this class we will discuss:
-He who dwells between life & death
-And death became a tree: The Greening
-Patron of esotericism, Patron of Ibn Arabi
-The revivifying spring
"The  elusive 'Green Saint' of Islamic mysticism is something of an ancestor,  anti ancestor and pre ancestor all in one, for the mightiest of the  Dead have conquered death itself. Covering a brief history of  theological, philosophical, and folk beliefs around Al Khidr, this talk  will seek to explore how this mysterious figure can help us to examine  notions around death and how it interacts with life."
 
About the Presenter:
J.M Hamade is an artist, illustrator, and writer currently based out  of  New York City. His work focuses on the various cross sections of visual culture, aesthetics, and art history with esotericism and the study of religion in general. With a striving towards cross cultural and interdisciplinary practices, he has sought to merge a craft based creativity with his own ancestral byways in Levantine, Mexican, and Mediterranean traditions.
