The Four Elements are of course the fundamental building blocks of, well, Everything: not simply the cosmos, but ourselves! They are frequently one of the first things that any would-be magician or witch is encouraged to master. As such, however, they and their magics sometimes take on a reputation of being overly "basic", "101 stuff" or even sneeringly only of interest to "newbies"
 
In this five-part modular series, Advanced Elemental Magic for Beginners, Dr. Alexander Cummins - a professional diviner, magician, and historian - encourages us to discard that attitude and dive back into the great depths that the Four Elements and their sorceries and spirits can offer even the most advanced and venerable magical practitioners. We will examine the great utilities of pre-modern humoural theory - the dominant European medical model of the last two millennia - which affords us elemental understandings not only of the body and the mind and personality, but anything from particular foods, herbs, places, even situations and relationships.
 
We will also examine accounts and methodologies for working with elementals - from the fiery salamanders of legend and the Chaldean Oracles, to the sprightly Airy sylphs found in high places and forests alike, and from the mysterious and Watery undines of rivers, lakes, and streams, to (of course!) the industrious Earthly gnomes of the mountains and the caves and chambers beneath the topsoil. We will examine early modern traditions of working with such spirits, from Paracelsian treatises to sigil-craft for working with the local elements of your own lands.
 
This course will include guided meditations, tips on practical spell-craft, and vital information on elemental herbology, occult philosophy, spirit conjuration, and magical ritual to afford every practitioner - from enthusiastic beginner to seasoned veteran - the opportunity to deepen and strengthen these crucial foundations of their magical and spiritual practice.
