Pickering Wharf Community Yoga

Join us for our Autumn Equinox commencement session! Everyone is  welcome. We will do our best to offer modifications and options for  every body type. New to yoga? Great! This is for you! Practiced yoga for  many years? Great! You will very likely encounter some new info &  approaches as we deconstruct harmful “yoga fitness” misconceptions while  exploring its authentic history.

All sessions will be presented in a secular, non-religious context. This first gathering will include:

• guided meditation
• discussion/q&a
• asana (postures & movement)
• brief history of yoga
• the mechanics of yoga: prana-bindhu
• & more

Please bring a yoga mat (we suggest a thick firm one - manduka is a  great investment), two yoga blocks, a large towel or mat cover, a bottle  of water & notebook. (we have a limited amount of yoga blocks for  folks to use, and chairs available for seated meditation)

Please do not attend if you have a cough or are at risk of spreading illness. We will have air filters in the room, and masks available, but not required.

All attendees must be over the age of 18. No exceptions.

All attendees must fill out the release form below prior to the start of class or you will be unable to attend the class and not subject to a refund.

About the Presenter:

Nick Dickinson has been studying & practicing yoga for 40+ years. As  an initiate of various Mahayana Tantric Yoga lineages, and a mainstream  yoga teacher leader at the two largest studios in New England for  decades; Nick’s classes provide unique insight into modern yoga from  both a traditional/spiritual and secular/fitness perspective.
