Lugh and his nature goddess consort were worshiped during Lugnasad, a 30-day midsummer feast held in Ireland, to ensure ripening of the crops. Called Lamfhada, or "of the long arm" in Gaelic because of his great spear and sling, Lugh's animal totems were the raven and the lynx.
