Painter and Feminist Hero Artemisia Gentileschi was a Baroque painter whose story has long been dominated by that of her father…and her rapist. But unlike most women of the era (or today), she actually got justice. Her rapist was banished and Artemisia went on to live a long, full, and successful life. She was the only woman who followed in the tradition of Carvaggio and was the court painter for the Medicis. Artemisia counted Galileo as a friend and also painted for Charles I of England. This perfume is reminiscent of the breeze coming in off the Mediterranean Sea.
